Giant Cake Slice

On February 2nd I celebrate my 3oth birthday. Since I won't have a party until the 13th I decided to keep this cake simple and save the more ornate one for the party. I've always wanted to make a "slice" of cake and I finally got my chance. The cake is carrot with cream cheese frosting and all accents were fondant.

  6. can you tell me if you use some kind of mold to obtain this shape? I mean naturally I can't believe that someone can prepare something like this.

  8. It's created from a standard round that was cut into fourths. For this cake I used three of the pieces, stacked and filled as normal. The fondant was done in pieces. The "chocolate cake" is a large rectangle that's wrapped around the cake. The "frosting" is a large pink triangle cut with a small cutting wheel to make the squiggles and cut to fit.
